GoodBye...See You Soon...

One thing I really enjoy looking & interested with Bangkok is the Street vendor, the food they sells are very colorful and smell good too. I'm so tempted to try...but was told not to. Because I don't know where to find toilet..But next trip..I don't care! I want to eat em' no matter what. I will get some shots first before I go then...because I felt regret not to try any... and I'm still thinking of that fried pumpkin chips I saw at the pier which I was "not allow" to get it... (q_p)...bummer!

One good tip for y'all out there... Don't do any shopping when you're in Bangkok until you go to the Chatuchak Market which open only on Sat & Sun from 8-6pm. it's a Shopping HELL....So if U planning a trip there..make sure U include a full weekend.

Beside all the sight seeing & shopping. I really enjoy this trip because I get to try all the transportation in BKK, the metro train, skytrain...the 1st class & 3rd class train, motorbike...tuk tuk... taxi... except the motorbike taxi which allow one passenger only. For all of it..I enjoyed walking by my own feet the best. I'm not sure how many km we walked for that few days...Even the morning before we leave,..we went for another walk.

Yet another footprints set...

Sawadee Ka

I guess everyone who come to Bangkok must visit the temple. Even you're not a buddish just go and see how grand and how BIG are the buddha in Bangkok. They're HUGE and very impressive.

Our first Bangkok temple visit is Wat Traimit, located in the Chinatown area. This is a SOLID GOLD buddha that's cast sometime in 13th century and it's worth US14Mil...WooooAahhh! One funny encounter at the temple, we met a monk. Actually I wanted to take a picture of his cat , as that's what I like to do when I go travel..try to take cat's picture... he ask us to sit down and start blessing us.. then he ask where we came from.. we said Kuching. He smiles and said..Oh Kuching..BIG CAT! we felt proud that a monk know Kuching.

After Wat Traimit, we're approached by 2 TukTuk drivers offer to bring us to the Temple we want to go next. Wrong move of us to accept the deal which is only 2RM to 3 temples. Remember, if you go to Bangkok don't accept any offer... well I should'd lied to them first that we already went to the jewelry & silk place yesterday...Hmm I guess we're too excited and wanted to go to the next destination. Which is The Golden Mount. There's an interesting history of Golden Mount...go search online.. also, Prepare to walk some staircase to go up to the Golden Mount, up there, you get to see the skyline of Bangkok from all the 4 corner.

Wat Benchamabophit or Marble Temple is a very impressive architecture. The temple is symmetrically in proportions and has some european architecture influence with the Marble from Italy.

The Grand Palace, it's the MUST VISIT place in Bangkok, One of the reason I return to Bangkok again because the last trip, I didn't get the chance to visit The world famous Grand Palace. It's beyond words to discribe how grand is it...and how much effort and detail were put on. Too bad we didn't have enough time to go around...by the time we get there, we only have 130hr to spend...Oh well...may be I can make it another reason to visit Bangkok again.

After all the visiting... we walked out from Grand Palace, found a very neat place to get some munchy as we'd use all the energy to walk around since morning. After filling up..we just simply walk around the area and accidently walk into a pier and found a new way to go around... by the boat! which is super cool...and the ride is very cheap & fast too.

** when you go to Grand Palace or all the temple, try to wear shirt with sleeves and something longer then ur knee as respect to the temple. Else they'll ask you to wear their shirt/sarong to cover up especially at the Grand Palace. Imagine wearing 2 layers of cloth walking under the big hot sun...

A day in Ayutthaya

If you going to Bangkok, do plan a trip up to Ayutthaya, the old capital of Siam and a historical City. You get to see a lot of ruined temples and buddha statues...and see the once glory kingdom.

We woke up early in the morning, went to Hua Lamphong Train Station by taxi hope to catch the first train. But we're a bit late...so we took the 9+ train...it's a "first class" train. The Train is old, with aircon and seat. There's meal served just like the airplane.cost about $26rm per trip. The ride is about 1.30hour.

When we reached Ayutthaya, we rent a motorbike to tour around. It's really a fun experience, they'll provide you a map. All you need is to pay $25rm and you have the bike until 6pm. Do study ahead about Ayutthaya so you get a better picture of the history and know which temple to go. Since it's a self guide tour... (^_^)

Kampung Bojong

Sunday..we woke up at 7am...rain started to cool down the hot weather for the last few days... In the bed, I thought "Yay! we don't need to go" but...I kicked the lazyass devil in me away. We headed to 10th Mile... my "Birth Place". (If you come to 10th mile you must try some Big Prawn Kolok Mee for breakfast... )After our breakfast, the rain getting heavier... pouring down like waterfall...we're getting dissapointed...but it only last for less then 10 mins...!

We drove to Kampung Bengoh from 10th Mile, then start walking from there. There's no road sign, or direction, just follow a little walk path that's enough for a person...According to our "Steve Irwin", there's 5 Kampungs in there, the furtherest will take about 8 hours to reach. We're not prepare for the 8hrs walk...

Today we just plan to get to Kampung Bojong for the waterfall, which is the 2nd Kampung and about 3-4 hours walks. depends on ur speed (of coz). On our way in, we came across a lot of villagers heading out for an event & "shopping". Some are from the last kampung and they've been walking since 5am to get to kampung Bengoh for food supply. We see old ladies carrying gas tank on the back... little kids helping parents carry boxes of food/ gasoline/ drinks... Yet, in the morning I was complaining I need to carry 1 extra big bottles of water...and my heavy camera...that make me shut up a bit...

We're told some of them walk in and out everyday...for the last kampung,it only took them 4-5 hrs to get in and for that amount of time...we only get to the 2nd kampung. (shame shame) we passed about 5-6 mountain..or it's Hill.. I know we keep on going up..then down..then up..then down...

We had a really good walk/hike into kampung Bojong, because we get to taste a little life of the Kampung people, walking the path they walk everyday, crossing the bamboo made suspension bridge for body balancing. I really think a lot if us seem to take our life in the "city" for granted... room with aircon..watch Astro on a nice sofa...everywhere must go with car... even a 10mins walk is a big NO...then our ass get bigger and bigger...

Keep on smiling...

BTW,..after 2-3 years a few part of these kampung will be gone... thanks to the "Damn" Project. A lot of this Kampung will be flooded and The villager will relocated to Tabuan Jaya...( JK)
